A foundation of all worships - Quran Chapter 6 – 93 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-851) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 93 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-851) -

A foundation of all worships

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Thinking deeply in the contents, after reciting the verses of Holy Qur’aan, is a Foundation of all worships. Important matters have been taught us in this section; which came to an end in the previous lesson. First of all, it was commanded that the people, who deny the Noble Qur’aan by saying: Allah did not reveal any Scripture. It does not suit to them, because they believe in Torah Which was revealed by Allah Almighty unto the Messenger Moses (peace be upon Him) as a Scripture. After it, they should understand that Allah Almighty, Who revealed Torah, from Which, the lucky people accrued the Light and Guidance, now The same Lord has inspired Holy Qur’an. Denying This Word is just like denying the Power and Wisdom of Allah Almighty.

Then Beauties of Holy Qur’an have been described, that this Scripture is most welcome and gracious and blessed. And It confirms those all Scriptures as true and correct, which came before It. As Those (Holy Books) were source of Light and Guidance for human being during Their times, likewise This Holy Qur’an will continue spreading the Light and Guidance in these last days of the world till the Hereafter.

After this, we are informed that those people believe in This Noble Qur’an who believe in the Day of Resurrection. It is the duty of every believer that they should establish their prayers regularly after having belief in the Hereafter and Holy Qur’an. Since the prayer is squeeze of entire worships, source of being saved from the indecent talks and evil acts, therefore, it aims that the Believers of the Doomsday and the Holy Qur’an will be the people, who will be obedient of Allah Almighty, who will save themselves from wicked deeds and will have good thoughts.

After that, the way of creating belief in the Day of Resurrection has been described, which is, remembrance of own death and the calamities of its agonies, and thinking about faithlessness of the world and its things. Everything will be kept remained here and the human being alone will go in his way. Nothing will accompany him besides own good or bad deeds, which he would have done in this world.

The result of deeds (good or bad) will come before every individual right after the death. At that moment, when his eyes will be closed hither, he will be able to see clearly the things belong to thither without further delay. His belief will be perfect at that time. The wise person is that, who understands by observing the inconstancy of the world that his stay in this world is casual, believe in the Hereafter, and do whatever can be possible in this world to be saved from the torment of the Hell. Looking at others dying, it cannot not be possible that anyone would not think that he would also have to die very soon. But being trapped by the worldly business, the humankind becomes careless, and solaces by enjoying amusements. He should understand that surely he has to die.

All wise people say that due to evil deeds, severe anxiety and discomfort will have to be suffered by every wrongdoer after death. Therefore, he should worry about living this short life, so that the comfort may be acquired after death. After thinking deeply in this matter, everyone will begin to believe in Holy Qur’an, in which, it has been mentioned very clearly that “if you wish ease and comfort after death then you should obey It. Do and live as It guides. The Holy Qur’an was inspired in this world only for the purpose that, the human beings should not look only for the leisure and comfort of the world, but he should be more careful about the life after death, and try to acquire the comfort and ease for that time, otherwise nothing will be changeable after death.

When the mankind will turn towards the Holy Qur’an then It will guide him that they should worship Allah Almighty, establish the prayer timely and regularly. In fact, the secret of our success and betterment in the both lives is hidden in the Prayer.

Reaching the pangs of death - Quran Chapter 6 – 93b (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-850) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 93b (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-850) -

Reaching the pangs of death

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

93b.  If thou couldst see, when the wrongdoers reach the pangs of death and the angels stretch their hands out (saying): Deliver up your souls. This day ye are awarded doom of degradation for that ye spoke concerning Allah other than the Truth, and used to scorn His portents.
93b.  Wa  law  taraaa  ‘iziz-zaalimuuna  fii  gamaraatil-mawti  wal-malaaa-‘ikatu  baasituuu  ‘ay-diihim. ‘Akh-rijuuu  ‘anfu-sakum. ‘Alyawma  tuj-zawna  ‘azaabal-huu-ni-  bimaa  kuntum  taquuluuna  ‘alAllaahi  gayral-Haqqi  wa  kuntum  ‘an  ‘Aayaatihii  tastakbi-ruun.

Commentary

Zaalimuuna  – (the wrongdoers, the tyrants), it is plural of Zaalim which has been derived from the word Zulm. Zulm means wrongdoing, tyranny, irrelevant and harmful sayings or doing anything which hurts. Zaalim is he, who uses entirely malicious words in conversation and commits harmful acts.

Gamaraati  – (pangs), it is plural of Gamaratun, its actual meaning is “the deep drowning water”. The person, who falls in the deep water, is entangled in difficulty and agony. Therefore, it means “the pang”.

Gayral-Haqqi  –  gayr means “against” and Haqq means “the Right and the Truth”. Gayral-Haqqi means “other than the Truth”, which as a single word can be called “a lie”.

The wrongdoing is of many types. That person, who harms either himself or other people by his bad thinking, tongue, hand and feet, pointing out by eyes or by any other conduct, is a wrongdoer. The reality of tyranny has been manifested many times in the Holy Qur’aan, shown its badness and described the way to be saved from it.

It was mentioned in the previous verse that the biggest tyrant is that person, who suggests any such word or manner for Allah Almighty, which is not suitable to His Dignity. Likewise, to claim, “I am a Prophet” is also a great tyranny.

The Messenger of Allah Almighty is being addressed in this verse: {O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)}! If You behold the condition of the wrongdoers when they reach death’s door, You will tremble with fear. When the time of death will come, nothing of the world will be useful for them. They will forget the world. Their outward eyes will be closed but the terrible scene of the Hereafter will be before them. The pangs and agonies of death would have surrounded them. Their wicked deeds would be standing before them like the frightful Angels, who will say them in fearful voice by stretching their long hands out in great anger and wrath: Deliver up your beloved soul in retaliation of worldly proud and honor. This day you are awarded doom of degradation for that you spoke concerning Allah other than the Truth and entirely misapprehension against His Dignity. You will be punished today for your vanity and arrogance.

Pride and haughtiness - Quran Chapter 6 – 93a (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-849) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 93a (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-849) -

Pride and haughtiness

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

93a.  And who is guilty of more wrong than he who forgeth a lie against Allah, or saith: I am inspired, when he is not inspired in aught; and who saith: I will reveal the like of that which Allah hath revealed?
93a.  Wa  man  ‘azlamu  mimmanif-taraa  ‘alAllaahi  kaziban  ‘aw  qaala  ‘uuhi-ya  ‘ilayya  wa  lam  yuuha  ‘ilayhi  shay-‘unw-wa  man-qaala  sa-‘unzilu  misla  maaa  ‘anzalAllaah.

Commentary

‘If-taraa-‘un  – (to forge or frame a lie), this word is made from  far-yunFar-yun means a lie and baseless talk. ’If-taraa means to forge a lie against someone or tell something worse against such a person, which he does not have.

‘Uuhi-ya’  – (inspired), it is past passive voice, origin of which is ’ii-haa-‘un. This word has been derived from Vahii. Here, vahii means “that Message of Allah, which is inspired upon someone by means of an Angel. ’Ii-haa means to reveal. Then ‘uuhi-ya will be meant “revealed or inspired”.

It was described previously that this Holy Qur’aan is the Scripture of Allah Almighty, which has been sent in the world for guidance, welfare and benefits of the human beings. Its usefulness will never come to an end. It completes and attests previous all Scriptures. Therefore, as you believe that Torah is the Scripture of God Almighty, in the same way, you should believe that It is also His Scripture and the Word. The only difference is that It is the last and final Scripture, and it has been determined as the last source of Guidance till the Day of Resurrection. It is the reason that It is called Sacred and Blessed Word of Allah Almighty, i.e. Its guidance and usefulness will never be finished. If you deny It, then you are the biggest transgressor. The infidels of Makkah used to say three things for denying the Holy Qur’aan, which are called in this verse “the biggest tyranny”.

It is commanded: Who would be guilty of more wrong than he who forges a lie against Allah Almighty? That is to say; Allah has not revealed any Scripture, or say as: “If Holy Qur’aan is a Revelation and Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a Messenger, then I am also inspired and I am a messenger too”. Whereas, neither he is inspired, nor is he a messenger. Or he says: “I can also reveal this like Qur’aan, as you say that it has been revealed by Allah”.

It manifests that, the person, who says: Allah has not revealed any Scripture, the human being is free and can do whatsoever he wants; he is an infidel. Likewise, that person, who claims that he is a messenger and he is inspired, actually he is also an infidel because, neither any messenger/prophet can come after Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), nor anyone can be inspired.

The Reason behind discontinuity of any Messenger and Revelation is that the Guidance of every sort exists in the Holy Qur’aan. Neither any more guidance is required, nor anyone can bring forth anything better than It which may be more righteous for the humankind. Nothing is revealed unnecessarily. It is not the game of kids. While there is no need of any further revelation, then it is obvious that there is no need of any messenger after the Last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Now if anyone says, “I am a Messenger and I am inspired”, he is a liar according to this verse and most guilty of the wrong.

A Blessed Scripture of Allah - Quran Chapter 6 – 92 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-848) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 92 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-848) -

A Blessed Scripture of Allah

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

92.  And this is a blessed Scripture which We have revealed, confirming that which (was revealed) before it, that thou mayst warn the Mother of Villages and those around her. And those who believe in the Hereafter believe herein, and they are careful of their worship.
92.  Wa  haazaa  Kitaabun ‘an-zalNaahu  Mubaa-rakum-Musad-diqullazii bayna  yaday-hi  wa  li-tunzira  ‘Ummal-Quraa  wa  man  haw-lahaa. Wallaziina  yu’-minuuna  bil-‘Aakhirati yu’-minuuna  bihii  wa  hum  ‘alaa  Salaa-tihim  yuhaafizuun.

Commentary

Mubaa-rakun – (blessed), it is past participle and its origin is Mubaa-rakatun which has been derived from barakah. Barakah means “to grow naturally and to increase automatically”. Use of this word (blessing) in this sense is “inside the good things”. Bad things do not have any blessing. Past tense of Mubaa-rakah is baa-raka, which means “increased the benefit of something”. Therefore, Mubaa-raku means “most useful i.e. the thing, which has abundant benefits.

‘Ummal-Quraa  – (the Mother of entire Villages), it is title of Makkah because it is a foundation of the population and the Guidance spread all over the world from this Place.

It was described earlier that whosoever will understand Allah Almighty maturely, will certainly believe that He has revealed the Scriptures from time to time. The believers of Torah exist before you. It was Allah, Who revealed It upon Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him). Although the followers of Torah do not act upon Its Commands completely and hide Its many parts intentionally, even then they are unable to remove Its Light and Guidance. After explaining these all matters, the purpose of Holy Qur’aan has been manifested clearly now in this verse.

It is commanded that this Holy Qur’aan which exists before you, We have revealed It. It has uncountable beauties and It contains countless benefits for the human beings, which can never come to an end. Those all Scriptures have been acknowledged in It as true and correct, which were revealed before It for the guidance and benefit of human beings, and the summary of every good thing, which did exist into them, has been mentioned in It.

It is Our (Lord’s) Blessing and Mercy that We provided so much sources of guidance for the human being, and that is the source which can never finish. Nothing new can be said now for the welfare of humankind, which does not exist in It. Therefore, there is no need of any further Messenger and Scripture after It. Everyone have to get own advantage in accord with one’s own capability from it and provide the advantage to others.

O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! You should lay a foundation to acquire Its advantage in such a way that You should begin teaching the people of Makkah and the villages in its vicinity, and warn them from bad consequences of evil deeds and tell them method of escaping from bad consequences.

Those people, who are convinced to acquire the object of their deeds after death, certainly they will believe in this Scripture and will obey Its Commands. These people will worship regularly because regularity in the prayer is a sign that they are obedient servants. It is known from this discussion that the people, who reap advantage from Holy Qur’aan are those, who believe in Hereafter and offer their prayers timely and regularly.

The play of caviling - Quran Chapter 6 – 91b (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-847) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 91b (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-847) -

The play of caviling

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

91b.  And (by which) ye were taught that which ye knew not yourselves nor (did) your fathers (know it)? Say: Allah, then leave them to their play of caviling.
91b.  Wa  ‘ullimtum-maa  lam  ta’-lamuuu ‘antum  wa  laaa  ‘aabaaa-‘ukum. QuLillaahu,  summa  zarhum  fii  khaw-zihim  yal-‘abuun.

Commentary

Zarhum – (leave them), zar is verb of command which has been derived from wazara, which means “to leave, to give up”.

Khaw-zun– (pastime), khaw-z means “to enter into water”, then it means “to involve in some activity in such a way that one becomes unconscious about everything else. Here it aims “those thoughts in which they are delighted”.

Yal-‘abuun– (play of caviling), it is a verb which has been derived from la-‘ab and which means play, sport, game etc.

In the previous verse, it was described that the idolaters of Makkah did not believe in Holy Qur’aan because of their stubbornness, even they said that Allah has never revealed any Book upon any mankind. Then Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded that He should ask them: Who revealed Torah upon Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him), due to which, the Light and the Guidance spread in the world? Although those people do not obey Its commands properly, for whom that Scripture was revealed. Moreover, some parchments of that Book which are of their own benefit, they show them to the people, and hide those pages, in which Good News about arrival of the last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been described.

It is commanded that Allah Almighty taught the Jews such matters and affairs through Torah which they did not know. And not only they but even their fathers and ancestors were also unaware. And then the Jews spread those teachings in Arabian territory and you (O people of Makkah) also got some knowledge from which you and your ancestors were totally unaware.

It is evident that at that time, only the Jews were educated people in the Arab. Even they had told all that, which was written in Torah about Holy Qur’aan and Muhammad, the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) before His arrival. But after His (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) arrival; they denied to believe because of arrogance and stubbornness.

When the tribes of Madinah (Aws and Khazraj) came to Makkah, they recognized Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) from the signs, which the Jews told them and they believed in Him as Messenger of Allah Almighty, but the Jews themselves remained deprived of the Belief. Moreover, the idolaters of Arab got more courage of denial because of them, and even they began to say that Allah has never revealed any Book.

After this, it is signified that there is no expectation from them that they will give correct answer of this question. You should say to them Yourself: Torah was also revealed by Allah, after It, He revealed Gospel too, and at the end, all earlier Scriptures were moderated and completed by the Revelation of Holy Qur’aan. Even then, if they do not listen, then you should leave them to their play of caviling, arrogance and stubbornness. Let them waste their time in play and useless matters. They will be punished for all of it very soon. They will be destroyed in this world as well as will suffer the severest punishment in the Hereafter.

True estimation of God’s Glory - Quran Chapter 6 – 91a (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-846) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 91a (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-846) -

True estimation of God’s Glory

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

91a.  And they did not have a true estimation of Allah’s Glory when they said: Allah hath naught revealed unto a human being. Say (unto the Jews who speak thus) : Who revealed the Book which Moses brought, a Light and Guidance for mankind, which ye have put on parchments which ye show, but ye hide much (thereof),
91a.  Wa  maa  Qada-rUllaaha  haqqa  qadri-Hiii  ‘iz  qaaluu  maaa  ‘anzalAllaahu  ‘alaa  basharim-min-shay’. Qul  man  ‘anzalal-Kitaabal-lazii  jaaa-‘a  bihii  Muusaa  Nuuranw-wa  Hudal-linnaasi  taj-‘aluunahuu  qaraa-tiisa  tubduunahaa  wa  tukhfuuna  kasiiraa.

Commentary

Qadaru – (they valued, appreciated, esteemed), it is in past tense; origin of which is qadrQadr means to examine, to estimate and to fix the value of something. Here it aims “to recognize”.

Qaraa-tiisa – (parchments), it is plural of qartaas, which means “sheet of any paper”.

Lineage of Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) was described in the previous verses and it was known from the description that after creating the mankind, Allah Almighty has established this way of their guidance that His Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them) would be born among them from time to time, until the arrival of His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

Hearing from the Jews, the Arabian people knew about the Prophets (peace be upon Them). Particularly they were well aware of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him), but when Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) came and produced before them Holy Qur’aan (the Scripture of Allah Almighty), they denied clearly and said: Allah has never revealed any Book.

They have been replied against their argument, in two ways according to this verse:

1.    Certainly, you believe in Allah Almighty but you are not aware of His Knowledge, Power and Wisdom. Therefore, you do not have a true estimation of Allah’s Glory. He has established according to His philosophy such a way of guidance of the human beings that Prophets (peace be upon Them) would bring His Scripture and teach It to the people.

2.    You have even forgotten (for supporting your false way of life) that you used to believe in Moses (peace be upon Him) as a Messenger of Allah and Torah as a Scripture of Allah Almighty. Remember it and refrain from denying.

It is commanded that these people are unable to estimate the true Epithets of Allah Almighty and deny His Power and Wisdom. Therefore, the words like “Allah did never reveal any Scripture” come out from their mouths. Say (unto the Jews who speak thus): If you believe in Torah then tell! Who revealed that Scripture which was brought by Moses, which was a flambeau of the way of guidance for the people during its time? Now although they show some of Its pages but have hidden maximum of them because either they do not think of It beneficial in disclosing, or they are so much careless about It that they do not even know about them.

Commentary

Prophet Abraham, and Prophets before and after Him (peace be upon Them) were discussed in the previous verses, and it was described by Allah Almighty: We sent them bestowing the Scripture, the Divine Law of the Religion and the Prophet-hood, so that they may guide the servants of Allah Almighty (mankind) towards the Straight Path. They taught the people in their times and told them the Path, fixed by Allah Almighty for them.

Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is the last Messenger in this series. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was also appointed for the same duty, which was performed by the past Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them).

This subject has been described clearly in this verse, from which it is obvious that since the time of humankind’s coming in this world, the Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them) used to come unto every nation in every time. They (peace be upon Them) had been teaching them the same way which was prescribed by the One, Who is their Creator and Lord, and which should be obeyed by everyone from the entire existing people. Its principles were the same in every time, which are three:

1.    To know The Creator and The Lord

2.    To recognize His Messenger and Prophet (peace be upon Him)

3.    To obey the Commands of Lord Almighty without disputing, which have been conveyed by means of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

The Scripture, which is revealed upon the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), contains original commands. According to these commands, the Prophet establishes a system of living, how to render the rights of own, to pay the Rights of own Lord Almighty and of the entire human beings step by step. The speed of mankind’s progress, his improvement in social, economic and political ability is regarded with a favor while these ways are determined.

Every Prophet (peace be upon Him) settled firmly a path during His time according to and keeping in view the principles, which is called the Divine Law of the Religion. In this connection, the Time of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is the last time of the world and for this entire time (till the world ends) one Divine Law has been prescribed; the Religion - Islam. Now there is no need of any other Prophet to come.

It is commanded: O Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), those all Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them), who came before you in the world, entire were Followers of the straight and clear path as guided by Allah Almighty. You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) would have also to follow Their path and to perform the same duty, which they performed, and that Way has been described in Holy Qur’aan with complete details, and the entire Guidance, Instructions, Rules and Regulations mentioned in it, have been modified and reformed properly for fulfilling the requirements of this last and final time of the world’s existence till the Hereafter.

O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): You should tell them! I am performing this duty (telling you the right path) by the Command of Allah Almighty. For this purpose, I don’t ask of you any reward, gratuity or fee. This is a Way, which Allah Almighty has established for the entire world to advise and teach, so that they would not go astray hither and thither, and follow that path easily which may lead them to their destination with ease and comfort.
