The Last & Final Commandments Lesson 5 درس قرآن

The Last & Final Commandments Lesson 5 درس قرآن

Rahmaan wa Rahiim (The Beneficent, the Merciful)

2.  The Beneficent, the Merciful.
2.  ‘Ar-Rahmaanir-Rahiim.

Rahmaan – This word is an epithet of God Almighty, which means “The Beneficent, The Merciful, The Forgiving. When a mankind comes in this world, he falls in different physical and spiritual evils and misfortunes. He needs hundreds of things. All people – whether they are Muslims or Infidels, good or bad, live in this world. They all are needy of His Mercy. Therefore, God Almighty described us about His one epithet - Rahmaan. That is to say; Allah Almighty showers down His Mercy on every person without distinction. He doesn’t forfeit His rewards from anyone, and sends down His favors and blessings on every person and living creature without asking for it.

Rahiim – It means that Allah Almighty is most Kind and Benevolent. He explains from the word Rahiim that Allah Almighty gives the people much more than their right. Those who will obey His Commandmentss; they will be granted special rewards. Bringing the word, Rahiim, at the end, it has also been described to us that after this world, another world (the Day of Judgment) will come. And when, we shall go to the Next World, after death, there, as regard to our Belief and deeds, God Almighty will bestow special pity on us. The Beneficence (Rahmaaniat) is His common epithet for the entire creatures, whereas; Kindness (Rahiimiat) is His special epithet.

In the form of “The Beneficent” He has arranged to fulfill our all necessities. He created skies and earth, sun, moon and stars, rivers, seas and ocean, spread forests and raised mountains, produced vegetation, fossils and minerals, beasts and animals etc. He put the shadow of His mercy in the hearts of parents, so that they love their children wholeheartedly and unselfishly. They arrange each type of comfort for their children. These gifts of Allah Almighty are equal for all - Muslims and non-Muslims without any distinction of “the good” and “the bad”.

In the form of being Rahiim – (the Merciful), God Almighty gives us much more retribution of our good acts. After death He will cover us also in His kindness and bestow on us the inheritance of the Paradise. Allah Almighty produces great results of little acts. He will give abundant remuneration to His servants for their ordinary goodness.

From these epithets of Allah Almighty, we learn that we should also treat our brothers and sisters (the mankind) with love and kindness. We should help them in the matters in which we are able to do something for them. We should excuse them on their errors and slips, so that good manners of Allah Almighty may be obvious in this world and His creature may acquire pleasure.
